Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026

1. Introduction

Jiro Map (the "Service") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information the Service collects and how it is used.

2. Information We Collect

2-1. Location Data

The Service may use your browser's Geolocation API to obtain your current location in order to show nearby Ramen Jiro shops. Location data is processed only in your browser and is never stored on our servers. Providing location data is optional; if you decline, shops will be shown based on central Tokyo.

2-2. Crowdsourced Status Reports (UGC)

When a user submits a crowd status report, only a SHA-256 hash of their IP address is stored on the server for spam prevention. Raw IP addresses are never stored. The content of submissions (crowd level, comments) is stored in our database.

2-3. Cookies and Local Storage

The Service uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Session management to prevent duplicate submissions (valid for 30 minutes)
  • Storing your language preference (valid for 1 year)

3. Analytics

We may introduce analytics tools in the future. If we do, this policy will be updated and users will be notified.

4. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We do not share collected information with third parties except as required by law or with the user's consent.

5. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. For significant changes, we will notify users within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
